I didn’t start out in software. I’m a scientist — a researcher and professor in aquatic nutrition and fish behaviour. It’s a field where a claim only counts if you can measure it, repeat it and show where it came from.
Code arrived the way it does for a lot of scientists: first to handle data, then to build the tools I couldn’t find anywhere else. Over the years, building software stopped being a side skill and became the work I enjoy most.
Today I design and build websites, web apps, Android apps and games for individuals, small businesses and professionals. I work alone, on purpose. When you talk to me, you’re talking to the person who plans your project, builds it, tests it — and fixes it if anything ever goes wrong.
I’ve kept the habits research gave me. I plan before I build. I test as I go. I check facts before they go live. And when I tell you something, I can show you why it’s true.
